Ready for Microsoft 365 Copilot?

Prerequisites, pricing structure, and the readiness work to do before rollout.

BedriSystems editorial · Published

What Copilot requires.

Microsoft 365 Copilot is an add-on license: each user needs a qualifying Microsoft 365 base plan such as Business Standard, Business Premium, E3 or E5. It is priced per user per month, and eligible base plans are confirmed when your quote is prepared.

Readiness is mostly about permissions.

Copilot answers from what each user can already access across SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and Exchange — so oversharing becomes visible fast. Review sharing links, site permissions and sensitivity labels before enabling it, not after.

Start with a pilot group.

License a small, representative group first. Measure where Copilot saves real time — drafting, meeting recaps, Excel analysis — tighten data governance from what the pilot reveals, then scale with evidence.

Budget beyond the license.

Plan for base-plan uplifts where users sit below a qualifying plan, short training sessions, and permission cleanup. Those items determine the actual return more than the license fee itself.
