Make your management environment easier to operate.
Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager can manage Windows devices together through co-management. This service is for IT teams with an existing Configuration Manager environment who want to introduce or expand cloud management. Configuration Manager was previously known as System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). It remains a distinct product; moving to Intune is a planned management transition, not simply a product rename.
Assess the environment before changing it.
A scoped review considers Configuration Manager health alongside Microsoft Intune enrollment and Microsoft Entra ID device identity. Bring your current version, device counts, application inventory, management policies and licensing details. Identify which management authority owns each workload today. That baseline helps plan enrollment and policy changes without assuming that every device can follow the same transition path.
Plan controlled deployment and servicing.
Plan which workloads to pilot in Intune, such as compliance policies, device configuration, application management or Windows Update policies. Configuration Manager can retain workloads that are not moved. The project plan should identify pilot devices, success criteria, rollback considerations and approval points. Windows Autopilot and Windows 11 deployment planning can be scoped alongside this work where they fit the intended device lifecycle.
Connect existing management to Intune.
Intune co-management and a Configuration Manager Cloud Management Gateway solve different needs. Co-management coordinates management workloads between Intune and Configuration Manager; a Cloud Management Gateway can provide connectivity for internet-based Configuration Manager clients. We review the requirement for each separately. The proposed design should account for identity, supported versions, network access and the devices that still depend on on-premises management.
Leave the team with a usable handover.
Agree the documentation, deployment records, validation checks and knowledge transfer your administrators need. Ongoing Configuration Manager support or managed endpoint services can be discussed separately from a one-time consulting engagement. Tell us your current environment, the specific outcome you need and any change deadlines so we can define the next assessment or implementation phase.
